§ 82-123. Same—Exception.

  • It shall be unlawful for any common carrier or person in charge or having control of any common carrier or any passenger, freight or other car connected therewith or with any other common carrier to transport or convey into the parish any person visibly ill or presenting symptoms of any irruptive disease or disease of an irruptive nature visible to the eye, unless the person so suffering has produced to the person in charge or control of such common carrier or cars connected therewith or with any other common carrier a certificate from a duly constituted health authority (provided that in case no such health authority exists, at any place where such certificate becomes necessary, the certificate of some reputable physician may be received) that the sickness from which such person is suffering is not of an infectious or contagious nature.
