§ 54-481. Unauthorized use of a charitable name.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to commit the crime of unauthorized use of a charitable name.

    (b)

    Unauthorized use of a charitable name is the knowing use of any nonprofit, charitable organization's name for the solicitation of funds, materials and/or sales products without the express, written consent from the so named nonprofit charitable organization. This section shall not be applicable to a nonprofit, charitable organization's use of its own name.
