§ 30-324. Investigation and issuance.

  • Within a reasonable time after the receipt of an application to establish, maintain or operate a bakery the department of health shall make or cause to be made an inspection of the place described in such application for the purpose of ascertaining whether the location of such proposed bakery, the construction, ventilation and lighting thereof, the amount of space therein and the sanitary arrangements are sufficient and that the public health and the health of the persons to be employed in such proposed bakery will not be endangered. If the department of health shall be satisfied of the reliability of the applicant and that the proposed bakery will be kept and maintained in accordance with the provisions of this article, then the department may issue or cause to be issued to the applicant a permit authorizing the applicant to keep, conduct or maintain a bakery at the place described in the application for and during the period of the permit. No permit shall be issued unless the application for such permit shall be approved by the department of health.
