§ 2-56. Reference to members in official documents.
(a)
All forms, letterheads, legislation and other documents produced or published by the city government which make reference to the city council or its members shall refer to the members as "councilmember," "councilmembers" or "members of the council" and not to "councilman," "councilmen," "councilwoman," "councilwomen" or "councilperson." The provisions of this section shall not apply to those legal documents which, in the opinion of the city attorney, require the use of the term "councilmen" or "councilman" to comply with the designation prescribed in the home rule charter.
(b)
The provisions of this section are prospective. All existing forms, letterheads, legislation and other documents may continue to be used until the supply of such forms, letterheads or other documents is depleted.
(c)
Upon submission of a comprehensive revision of the Home Rule Charter to the voters of the city, proposed amendments to the Charter shall reflect the designation of person serving on the council as councilmember or councilmembers.
