§ 26-78. Conditions for granting permits.

A permit for construction, addition, or alteration of a building in any subdivision or area designated herein shall comply with any applicable building restrictions, and its issuance shall be conditioned upon the following:

(1)

The Orleans Levee District shall provide to the department of safety and permits official copies of building restrictions pertaining to all properties under its auspices, and shall provide updated copies of such restrictions as they are added or modified;

(2)

The director of the city planning commission shall cause to have added to the official zoning base maps a notation showing that the areas designated herein are subject to the requirement of verification of compliance with building restrictions by the Orleans Levee District;

(3)

Applicants for permits in the areas designated herein shall obtain verification of compliance from the Orleans Levee District which shall be shown on the permit application and on each separate page of the applicant's plans;

(4)

The department of safety and permits shall not issue any permit in the areas designated herein until the foregoing requirements have been met in their entirety.
