§ 166-5. Overhanging balconies.  


Latest version.
  • No overhanging balconies or galleries of wrought or cast iron may be removed, but other new or additional balconies may be erected if:

    (1)

    Supported by brackets or iron columns;

    (2)

    At least nine feet above the level of the sidewalk; and

    (3)

    Conform to the quaint and distinctive architecture of the Vieux Carré.

    Permits for all such new construction or any renovation shall be subject to the requirements of this article.
