§ 154-1032. Parking prohibited on sidewalks in Vieux Carré area.
(a)
No person shall stop or park a vehicle or other conveyance, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the law or directions of a police officer or traffic control device, on a sidewalk in that portion of the Vieux Carré bounded by the Mississippi River, the downriver side of Canal Street, the lake side of Bourbon Street, and the downriver side of St. Ann Street, or at any location within the 300 block of Exchange Place, except as otherwise permitted in this article.
(b)
Stopping, standing or parking within the 300 block of Exchange Place shall be permitted only for delivery vehicles for a short-term period not greater than 30 minutes and only while such vehicles are being used for the loading or unloading of merchandise. A violation of the prohibition against stopping, standing or parking within the 300 block of Exchange Place for other vehicles shall carry the same penalty as that for other violations of this section.
