Division 8. STOPPING OR PARKING PROHIBITED IN CERTAIN PLACES |
§ 154-1031. Illegal parking upon neutral ground, public playground, pedestrian mall or Lafitte Greenway.
(a)
No person shall stop or park a vehicle or other conveyance, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the law or directions of a police officer or traffic control device, at any of the following places:
(1)
Upon a neutral ground other than those designated and operated as parking facilities.
(2)
Upon any area of city-owned property formally dedicated, recognized and maintained as a playground by the city recreation department, not specifically designated for parking and interfering with the designed purpose of the playground.
(3)
Upon any area of city-owned property formally dedicated or recognized and maintained as a pedestrian mall, not specifically designated for parking and interfering with the designed purpose of the pedestrian mall.
(b)
No person shall move a vehicle not lawfully under his control into any such prohibited area or away from a curb such distance as is prohibited.
(c)
No person shall park or leave standing any vehicle or other conveyance, whether attended or unattended, upon the Lafitte Greenway, the 2.6-mile trail and green corridor spanning from the intersection of North Alexander and St. Louis Streets to Basin Street and Lafitte Avenue.
