§ 106-65. Duties.
The department of parks and parkways shall:
(1)
Administer, control and manage all parks, except those otherwise provided for by applicable state laws.
(2)
Cultivate, place, maintain and remove trees, shrubs, flowers, grass and other plants on public grounds.
(3)
Embellish parks, parkways, highways and other public grounds.
(4)
Designate the portions of parks and other areas under its control for the activities under the direction of the department of recreation.
(5)
Have custody, control, operation and administration of John P. Brechtel Memorial Park, including the authority to operate such concessions therein, by lease or otherwise, as the department may deem appropriate and desirable, as well as the authority to assess and collect reasonable fees for the privilege of fishing in the lagoon of such park.
