§ 98-64. Water supply.

  • (a)

    There shall be provided in each mobile home park an accessible, adequate, safe and potable supply of water, capable of furnishing a minimum of 125 gallons of water per day per mobile home site. Where a public water supply of such quality is available that source shall be used exclusively. No independent water supplies shall be developed or used unless, upon petition by the applicant, the department of health shall, after investigation and hearing find and determine that the proposed source and the works for the production, transmission and distribution of such supply shall produce water meeting minimum standards, and shall grant special permission for the development and use of such independent water supply.

    (b)

    Water service shall be provided for all individual mobile home sites and for all service buildings. The mobile home park shall provide running water service of a pressure of not less than 40 pounds per square inch at all outlets during peak hours (8:00 a.m.—9:00 p.m.) and 60 pounds per square inch thereafter. Facilities and fittings for water service for direct use by mobile homes shall be so located and constructed that they will not be damaged in the movement of the mobile homes and other vehicles having access to the mobile home park.

    (c)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to make any connection between a water distribution system of a mobile home park and any nonpotable, questionable, or unapproved water supply.
