§ 90-36. Worker's compensation.

  • (a)

    The terms and provisions of the Louisiana Employers' Liability Act, 23:1021 to 23:1351 shall apply to all members of the police force of the city who shall be killed or permanently disabled or die as a result of such injuries received while in line of duty.

    (b)

    The payments to be made under this section to the members of the police force of the city, or the dependents thereof, shall be made in the same manner and form and under the same terms and conditions as are provided for in the Louisiana Employers' Liability Act and amendments thereof.

    (c)

    Nothing in this section shall apply to anyone except a duly appointed and qualified member of the police force of the city, nor shall the provisions of this section apply except in cases where the death or permanent disability is a direct result of injuries or sickness received by such member of the police force whilst in line of duty.
