§ 82-409. City to order extermination, lien owner, etc.
Whenever it is necessary for the city to order a structure demolished and to undertake to contract for the demolition of such structure due to the failure of the owner to do so, the city shall contract with a licensed pest control operator to treat such structure and premises for rodent and vermin extermination or it may undertake such treatment by personnel of the department of health. The director of the department of finance may contract for this service individually for each structure to be demolished or he may let such a contract on an annual basis; however, such contract shall be signed only with a licensed pest control operator. The cost of extermination for a structure shall be included in the expenses incurred for demolition and charged to the owner or owners of such property in accordance with the provisions of the city building code.
