§ 82-226. Examination; penalty for failure to take.

  • (a)

    Any person to be committed to the house of detention or the parish prison as a result of a sentence of the municipal courts shall be obliged, when so directed by the court, to submit to have a chest X-ray made by the department of health, at no expense to the prisoner sentenced, for the purpose of determining whether or not they have the communicable disease of tuberculosis.

    (b)

    Refusal to so submit to such X-ray shall constitute an offense, and upon proof thereof, shall subject the offender to punishment by the payment of a fine of up to $100.00 or imprisoned not exceeding 90 days, or both, in the discretion of the court.
