§ 78-76. Building permit, required.

(a)

It shall be unlawful to proceed with any new construction, substantial improvement, repair or renovation of a building within the city without having previously obtained a permit from the director of the department of safety and permits pursuant to the standards of this article and Chapter 26 of this Code.

(b)

It shall be the duty of the department of police to see that such work requiring a permit is authorized and to report the absence of a permit to the director.

(c)

All work must comply with the building code as provided in Chapter 26 of this Code, as well as this article, and shall be subject to inspection whether a permit is required or not, at the discretion of the director.
