§ 70-281. Established.

  • (a)

    In accordance with the provisions of sections 6-205 and 6-207 of the City Charter, the Plant-A-Tree Fund is hereby established to (1) receive donations from private individuals, corporations, and other institutions and entities in the private sector; and except as provided in section 70-415 of the City Code of New Orleans; (2) to receive revenues collected from the operation or rental of properties/facilities administered by the department of parks and parkways to support programs and activities of the department of parks and parkways.

    (b)

    Donations will be accepted either on an unrestricted basis, or, conditionally, for the support of a specific program, project, activity, or other use as designated by the donor.

    (c)

    Conditional donations to the fund shall be reviewed by the board of city trusts, as required by section 5-402 of the Charter.

    (d)

    The fund hereby established shall be administered by the director of the department of finance and shall be kept in an interest bearing account to the benefit of and to become a part of the fund.
