§ 54-443. Tampering with evidence.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to commit the crime of tampering with evidence. For purposes of this section tampering with evidence is the alteration, movement, removal, or addition of any object or substance which the perpetrator knows or has good reason to believe is, was, or will be, related to or connected with any investigation of crime by state, local or federal law enforcement officers with the intent of distorting the results of such an investigation.

    (b)

    Any person convicted of the crime of tampering with evidence shall be fined not more than $300.00 or imprisoned for not more than 150 days in jail or both.
