§ 50-143. Payment of cost of record prerequisite to appeal.

  • Any person against whom judgment has been rendered in any proceeding in the municipal court and who desires to appeal therefrom to the criminal court for the parish or to the supreme court of this state shall pay to the clerk of the municipal court contemporaneously with the filing of the motion of appeal the sum of $100.00, in cash, to defray the cost of preparing the record and transcribing the evidence. The motion of appeal shall not be signed by the judge until due proof shall have been furnished him of the payment of these costs. In addition to the $100.00 deposit required in this section the appellant shall pay to the clerk of the municipal court $2.00 per page for each page in the record and transcript.
