§ 34-34. Definitions.
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Mardi Gras season means those days and nights commencing 11 days before Mardi Gras and continuing until 12:00 midnight on Mardi Gras Day.
Parade route means that area extending one city block in either direction of the streets used by the various parades while the parade is in progress.
Parade time means that time commencing two hours before the starting time of a parade and ending two hours after the passing of a parade, but no vendor shall sell or display his wares within the central business district which is defined as the area bounded by the river, Esplanade Avenue, Claiborne Avenue and Howard Avenue, prior to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays, except Mardi Gras Day. On weekends and on Mardi Gras Day when there is more than one parade on any calendar day the vendor must move two hours after the end of the last parade for that calendar day.
Vehicle means a conveyance which is licensed by the motor vehicle division of the state department of safety.
