    Due to the ongoing and progressive rebuilding of the city, the 2019 Mardi Gras parade schedule is listed below with parade permits being issued under this chapter by the department of finance:

    (b)

    No carnival (Mardi Gras) parades may be staged other than during the carnival parade season. This provision shall not be applicable to marching club parades, or to groups who do not have trucks and/or floats as a part of the parades, except that they shall be required to obtain the necessary permits to parade during Mardi Gras. However, notwithstanding any other provisions to the contrary, only the following marching club organizations may be issued permits to parade on Mardi Gras Day:

    (1)

    Half-Fast Marching Club;

    (2)

    Jefferson City Buzzards Marching Club;

    (3)

    Lyons Marching Club;

    (4)

    Corner Club Marching Club;

    (5)

    Mondo Kayo Social and Marching Club.

    In the event any marching club is determined by the police department to be retarding or impeding the progress of any Mardi Gras Day parade, the police department may require the immediate removal of such marching club from the parade route.

    (c)

    No other parade permits shall be issued for carnival parades or truck parades from the second Friday before Mardi Gras through Mardi Gras Day inclusive.
