§ 30-1354. Investigation by department of safety and permits and department of fire.
(a)
The department of health shall forward to the department of safety and permits a written interoffice memorandum indicating the address of the business location of each applicant. The department of safety and permits, after making proper investigations, shall either approve or disapprove in writing to the department of health stating whether or not the proposed business location complies with the building code, mechanical code, electrical code or the comprehensive zoning ordinance of the city. The written approval of the department of safety and permits shall be obtained prior to the issuance of a permit.
(b)
If the property resides within the boundary of the Vieux Carré, the department of health shall send a copy of the interoffice memorandum to the director of the Vieux Carré Commission. The Vieux Carré Commission shall certify in writing to the department of health, that the property is in compliance with chapter 114 of this Code.
(c)
The department of health shall also forward to the department of fire a written interoffice memorandum indicating the address of the business location of each applicant. The department of fire, after making proper investigations, shall either approve or disapprove in writing to the department of health stating whether or not the proposed business location complies with the fire prevention code of the city. The written approval of the department of fire shall be obtained prior to the issuance of a permit.
