The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the
meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates
a different meaning:
Roominghouse, boardinghouse or lodginghouse
means a building other than an apartment hotel, hotel, small and large group homes,
residential care center, dormitory, motel or motor lodge, or tourist home, containing
sleeping rooms where lodging or lodging and meals are provided for five or more unrelated
persons but containing less than 15 sleeping rooms. The sleeping rooms generally do
not have private bathrooms or kitchen attached thereto. In a residential zoning district,
the minimum length of stay in a roominghouse, boardinghouse or lodginghouse shall
be 30 days.
