§ 2-929. Vending locations for the blind and visually disabled.

  • All departments, agencies, boards or commissions occupying property owned by the city containing one or more of the following specified vendor locations, to-wit: Vending stand and immediately adjacent space on the first floor, west wing of City Hall, 1300 Perdido St., ("CH location"); vending stand on the first floor of the civil district courthouse, 421 Loyola Avenue, ("CDC location"); vending stand in the criminal courts building, 2700 Tulane Avenue, ("CCB location"); vending stand in the municipal court building, 727 South Broad Street, ("MCB location"); and vending stand in the New Orleans Police Complex, 715 South Broad Street ("NOPC location"), (CH location, CDC location, CCB location, MCB location and NOPC location hereinafter collectively referred to as "preference locations") shall give preference in the operation of the preference locations for vending stands, vending machines, and other small business concessions to blind and visually disabled persons under the administration of the Louisiana State Department of Social Services (formerly the Louisiana Health and Human Resources Administration). No blind or visually disabled person shall be required to pay any fee, service charge or equivalent thereof upon the operation of a vending stand, vending machines and other small business concessions in the preference locations, nor shall the security of the operation within the preference locations of the vending stand, vending machines or other small business concessions be disturbed in any way, without reasonable and just cause.
