§ 2-11. City council parking area.

The City Hall surface parking lot at the corner of LaSalle and Perdido Streets shall be reserved on a seven-day-per-week, 24-[hour]-per-day basis for the exclusive use of members of the city council, their designees, and council staffers assigned parking spaces in the lot. If circumstances require that the lot be used for other purposes, or if the lot will otherwise be unavailable to the city council, it shall be the duty of the chief administrative officer, the director of property management, the director of homeland security, or any such other official responsible for the lot's unavailability to request that the circumstances dictating the lot's unavailability be presented to the council's ground transportation and parking committee for its consideration and approval. In the event of an emergency or there is otherwise insufficient time or opportunity to present the matter to the committee, the aforesaid responsible official shall provide written notice of such unavailability to each member of the council and to the council chief of staff as soon as possible but in no event less than 24 hours prior to the lot's unavailability.
