§ 26-405. Facade requirements.

  • (a)

    Installations of public telephone booths on building facades are prohibited.

    (b)

    Facade improvements, including billboards, which cover over and/or hide the existing windows of a building are prohibited.

    (c)

    Broken and/or cracked window panes must be replaced with window glass.

    (d)

    Painted-over, taped and/or boarded-up windows are prohibited.

    (e)

    Opaque roll-down doors and/or gates are prohibited.

    (f)

    Signage on the facade is limited to the legal name of the business operating therein. The size of any sign is controlled by the provisions of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and, where applicable, the regulations of the central business district historic district landmarks commission ("CBDHDLC").

    (g)

    Changes to the facades of buildings located within a historic district require review and approval by the CBDHDLC.
