§ 26-230. Fire protection systems.

All systems, devices, and equipment to detect a fire, actuate an alarm, or suppress or control a fire or any combination thereof shall be maintained in an operable condition at all times in accordance with the Fire Code of the City of New Orleans, as amended. All dwelling units shall have an operable fire detection system and alarm. Such system may be hard wired or battery operated. The code official or duly authorized representative may test the system and alarm to determine if it is functioning and operable.
