Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 22-169. Height limit.
Except as otherwise provided in this article, no structure or tree shall be erected, altered, allowed to grow or maintained in any airport approach zone, airport transition zone, or airport turning zone to a height in excess of the height limit herein established for each zone. The following height limitations are herein established for each of the aforementioned zones at New Orleans International Airport (Moisant Field):

Approach zone. On a 50 to one slope beginning at a point 200 feet from the ends of the instrument runway (10-28) and at the same elevations as the ends of the runway and on a 40 to one slope beginning at a point 200 feet from the ends of all other runways and at the same elevations as aforesaid and each slope or plane extending from the ends of the runways as aforesaid to the intersection of each with the horizontal surface 150 feet above the established airport elevation of three feet mean sea level (MSL).

Transition zone. On a seven to one slope from each side of the runways and the approach zones to the intersection with the horizontal surface of 150 feet above the established airport elevation.

Turning zone. A maximum height of 150 feet above the established airport elevation of three feet MSL, making the height limitation of 153 feet MSL within the turning zone but outside the approach and transition zones; the turning zone extends 18,500 feet in every direction from the radii point which is located on the centerline of the instrument runway (10-28) 3,500 feet W. N. W. from the E. S. E. end of such runway.
