§ 166-123. Duty of commission to assist in enforcement of article.

  • It shall be the duty of the Vieux Carré Commission, through its director or other proper officer, to send notices to all persons who may be guilty of a violation of this article and inform them of defects in their buildings or structures which must be remedied, in compliance with this article. If such notice has not been complied with after 30 days shall elapse from the giving of such notice, then it shall be the duty of the director of the Vieux Carré Commission to prosecute or to cause to have prosecuted such violations of this article in the municipal courts of the city, or such other court of competent jurisdiction as may be proper, either civil or criminal. This duty shall not be mandatory where the director believes or has good reason to believe that the person to whom notice has been sent is complying or attempting to comply with the provisions of this article.
