§ 162-1653. Legal fares and payment thereof required.
(a)
It shall be unlawful for any pedicab operator to ask, demand or collect any rates of fare other than as specified herein.
(b)
It shall be unlawful for any passenger of any such vehicle to refuse to pay the operator thereof the legal rate charged pursuant to the provisions of this article.
(c)
The department of safety and permits shall review all ground transportation fares each consecutive odd year, and submit a report in a national peer city comparative analysis format to the mayor and the city council.
(d)
An individual pedicab operator may, upon the collection of a fare from a passenger, accept a gratuity for the provision of transport services if the passenger deems appropriate to do so.
(e)
It shall be unlawful for a pedicab operator to force payment of gratuity or to attempt to coerce, intimidate or cajole a passenger into paying a gratuity beyond that which the passenger deems appropriate.
(f)
Fare rates must be posted and permanently affixed in a location on the pedicab that is visible to passengers.
