§ 162-453. Lost articles in taxicabs.

(a)

Taxicab drivers are required to notify the ground transportation bureau when lost items are recovered. Such notice shall be provided by the driver within one working day of the discovery of the article and should contain the following information:

(1)

Description of the article; and

(2)

Location where the article was found.

(b)

All such recovered articles must be deposited with the ground transportation bureau within two working days of their discovery. The driver shall receive a receipt for each article deposited with the ground transportation bureau and may claim such article six months after deposit by surrendering the receipt to the bureau. If the article has been recovered by the owner, the bureau shall provide the driver with the name and the address of such owner.
