§ 154-1525. Certain equipment required.
No motor truck, tractor or trailer shall be operated on any street unless equipped with tires of rubber or of some material of equal resiliency and of the widths required to conform with the load carried. In no case shall a solid rubber tire be used in which the rubber portion is less than one inch in thickness. No motor truck or tractor shall be operated on any street unless equipped with a speedometer of standard make and in good working order; or in lieu thereof, a governor properly sealed and so adjusted as to limit the speed to the maximum rate allowed for motor trucks or tractors in accordance with the provisions of this article. All trucks, tractors or trailers used to haul oversized vehicles and overlength loads between dusk and dawn are to be equipped with portable lights and barricades. These lights are to be red or amber in color and are to be placed on the truck, tractor or trailer, or on the overlength load, in a position which will enable it to be seen from any direction. They should also be equipped with portable barricades containing fixtures for the attachment of portable lights. These lights and barricades are to be used in case of a breakdown or in time of trouble.
