§ 154-1091. Duty to make payment prerequisite to use of space.

When any vehicle is parked in any legal parking space which is a metered space, the owner, operator, manager or driver of such vehicle shall, upon entering such parking space, immediately make the specified payment in the single/double-space parking meter or multispace pay station, or by use of an OPS, as is applicable, by using either legal tender of the United States or by using a credit card, debit card, smart card or token, prepaid account or other electronic means as is acceptable to the particular device being used to regulate such parking space. Upon making such payment, the metered space regulated by the device to which payment was made may be used by such vehicle during the parking limit provided, for the part of the street in which the parking space is located.
