§ 154-687. Parking citation forms.

  • (a)

    The parking citation shall be the notice of violation for purposes of this article.

    (b)

    The parking citation shall contain information concerning the nature, date, time, location of the alleged violation, the state vehicle license plate number, and make of car. In those cases where a license plate is not visible and/or legible, either the vehicle identification number or the brake inspection tag number shall be in lieu of the state vehicle plate number. In the case of livery vehicles the certificates of public necessity and convenience number (CPNC) shall be in lieu of the state vehicle license plate number. In the case of overparking in a space regulated by a multispace pay station or single/double space parking meter, the parking citation shall contain the number of the meter at which the vehicle is overparked. The parking citation shall also contain information advising the person charged of the manner and time in which he may contest the violation charged in the notice. The parking citation shall also provide that a failure to timely answer or appear before a hearing examiner shall be considered a prima facie admission of the violation set forth in the parking citation, in which event the hearing examiner may assess the appropriate fine or fines and all penalties incidental thereto.
