§ 154-301. Driver's license.

  • (a)

    Every person, other than a chauffeur and those persons specifically exempted under the provisions of this Code, shall secure and maintain from the driver's license bureau of the state a current, valid motor vehicle driver's license before operating a motor vehicle upon the public streets of the city.

    (b)

    Every person who is employed by another for the principal purpose of driving a motor vehicle, and every person who drives any motor vehicle that has a registration of over 3,500 pounds, or drives a motor vehicle for the transportation of persons or property for hire, shall secure and maintain from the driver's license bureau of the state a current, valid driver's license before operating any such motor vehicle on any public street in the city.
