§ 154-12. Motor vehicle transaction fee.

(a)

A motor vehicle transaction fee not to exceed $4.00 is levied upon each service or transaction carried out by the office of motor vehicles provided that this fee is effective when the lease between the City of New Orleans and the landlord of the facility housing the motor vehicles commissioner has been signed and is due and payable at the time the service or transaction is carried out and is to be collected by the office of motor vehicles on behalf of the City of New Orleans pursuant to an agreement executed by and between the motor vehicle commissioner and the mayor.

(b)

The mayor is hereby authorized to sign an agreement with the motor vehicle commissioner to provide for the collection of the motor vehicle transaction fee by the office of motor vehicles.
