§ 146-502. Obstruction of street maintenance.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with or obstruct the maintenance and repair of any portion of any street in the city. It shall likewise be unlawful for the owner or his agent to obstruct any street where notice of street work is posted within the block and also unlawful to refuse to move from the repair area any object of personal property, such as motor vehicle or other item, when requested to do so by employees of the department of streets for the purpose of facilitating repair or maintenance of any portion of the street. Any object and/or vehicle impeding street repair or maintenance may be moved from such areas by employees of the department of streets to nearby areas or as otherwise provided by law. When any vehicle bearing a current state license plate is moved, it shall be relocated in a legal parking space and, if relocated in other than the same block, notice of such relocation shall be filed with the department of police and shall include the license number, make, color and body type of the vehicle, and the address from which the vehicle was relocated.
