Division 2. CUTTING AND DIGGING IN STREETS GENERALLY |
§ 146-455. Restoration of asphalt roadways.
In addition to the full-depth restoration of any cut, the street's wearing surface to a depth of at least 2½ inches shall be removed and replaced on the entire street block, as measured from beginning of intersection to the beginning of intersection, as part of the required pavement restoration, unless otherwise approved by director of the department of public works, if:
(a)
The roadway is under five years old and the cut and subsequent pavement restoration runs for more than 100 linear feet along the length of the block or covers 25 percent or more of the total pavement surface area of the block; or
(b)
The cut and subsequent pavement restoration runs for more than 150 linear feet along the length of the block or covers 50 percent or more of the total pavement surface area of the block, regardless of the age of the pavement.
For purposes of this determination, the restoration of one or more separate cuts made within a 12-month period shall be considered as one combined restoration effort.
