§ 134-83. Deposit or bond.

  • When any permit is authorized by the board of murals review, a bond in the amount of $5,000.00 to the department of safety and permits shall have been posted or shall be posted with the department of safety and permits by the applicant prior to the issuance of a permit by the department, which bond shall be applicable to any and all permits for murals issued heretofore and hereafter to such applicant, except in those cases where a mural is applied by hand painting. In those cases where a mural is applied by hand painting, a bond in the amount of $50,000.00 shall be posted with the department of safety and permits by the applicant prior to the issuance of a permit by the department. If the period for which a mural permit is granted shall have expired for more than 30 days and no renewal permit or new permit for the same location has been authorized by the murals review board, the department of safety and permits shall be authorized to use the proceeds of the bond as required to remove the mural and restore the surface of the site to a clean, attractive condition.
