§ 122-88. Removal of timbers, etc.
The different railroads throughout the city shall be required upon being notified by the director of the department of streets to cause to be removed, within 48 hours from the service of notice, all timbers or stringers of any description used in the construction of railroads and which may be declared by the director of the department of streets to be obstructions to a free and uninterrupted drainage. Such timbers or stringers shall in every case be replaced by iron bars or plates or by any material suitable for the purpose, under the direction of the director of the department of streets. Upon failure or neglect of any company to remove obstructions of the kind herein specified and within the time specified, the director of the department of streets shall have them removed as soon as practicable thereafter at the risk and expense of the company.
