Any member eligible for retirement before July 1, 1956, may be retained in city employment
until such time as six quarters of social security coverage are earned. Upon termination
prior to July 1, 1956, or before qualifying for social security benefits, whichever
occurs first, the member shall receive benefits under the retirement ordinance in
effect on November 8, 1955, upon payments of any refund received after January 1,
1956.
