§ 114-311. Extension of benefits; effective date.

(a)

It is hereby declared to be the policy and purpose of the city to extend the provisions of R.S. 42:1001 providing social security to eligible officers and employees of the city and the parish.

(b)

In pursuance of such policy and for such purpose the officers and employees of the city and the parish shall take such action as may be required by applicable state or federal laws or regulations. The coverage of eligible officers and employees shall be effective January 1, 1955.
