Any amount payable hereunder, whether on account of retirement, disability or otherwise,
shall be paid by means of electronic funds transfer from the system to an account
designated by a member, annuitant, beneficiary or other person for such purpose, unless
such member, annuitant, beneficiary or person establishes to the satisfaction of the
trustees that such method of payment would result in substantial hardship or unintended
expense.
